Summer Programs

Ages 4 & 5

Program consists of: Basic projects in clay, drawing and painting, decoupage, mosaic, beading, and other mediums.

Program 1 – 10am to 12pm – Monday through Friday – 7/7 through 8/1
Program 2 – 10am to 12pm – Monday through Friday – 8/4 through 8/29

Ages 6 to 9

Program consists of: Advanced projects in clay, drawing and painting, decoupage, mosaic, beading, and other mediums.

Program 3 – 10am to 1pm – Monday through Friday – 7/7 through 8/1
Program 4 – 10am to 1pm – Monday through Friday – 8/4 through 8/29
Program 5 – 2pm to 5pm – Monday through Friday – 7/7 through 8/1
Program 6 – 2pm to 5pm – Monday through Friday – 8/4 through 8/29

Ages 10 & up

Program is designed for students interested in advanced placement in art and/or for students preparing their portfolio for presentation.
Students will hone both their two and three-dimensional skills through challenging projects in drawing, painting, clay hand building and the potter’s wheel.

Programs 7 and 8 are designed with teens in mind. Alternatively, teens can join adult programs. Ask us for information on adult programs.
Program 7 – 2pm to 5pm – Monday through Friday – 7/7 through 8/1
Program 8 – 2pm to 5pm – Monday through Friday – 8/4 through 8/29

Program Information

Programs 1 & 2 – cost ($18/hour) = $720 each.
Programs 3 through 8 – cost ($18/hour) = $1080 each.
There are no other fees.
Age groupings are guidelines. Some children may benefit if challenged. Students may try an advanced program to see if it is appropriate for them. The reverse also applies.
Payment for programs is due Friday 6/27.
There will be no refunds after the first three classes.

Outside of a Program

Students wishing to join a program on a part-time basis will be accepted based on available openings in the programs. Cost is based on $20/hour per student.

Special Groups

Groups of three or more students have the opportunity to form their own program; cost is based on $20/hour per student.
Parent/Child pairings are welcome.
Private lessons are $50/hour.
Semi-Private (2 students) lessons are $30/hour each.

Haven Art, Port Washington is proud to announce Heidi Brooke Stephens has accepted the position of Director of the Children's Art Program beginning September 2007. Children Art & Craft Schedule – Fall 2007

A student may begin in a class at any time; instruction is geared to the individual needs of the student. Age groups are guidelines. We welcome discussions about the art abilities and maturity of each student. Classes are small and close at 8 with the exception of pottery, which closes at 6. The schedule generally follows the Port Washington School District calendar with any special arrangements for scheduling made between the teachers and the student’s parent.

The fees listed are for six week sessions with registration ongoing throughout the year with the allowance of one make up for an absence per six week session.

	Students are introduced to two and three-dimensional art using clay, paints and other media.
Tuesday	4:30-5:30pm - $180	Mixed Media	4 to 7yr.
	4-5:30pm - $180	Drawing & Painting	8 to 11yr.
	Through the examples of the masters, students will work with line and color to create still life and human form works of their own.
	4-5pm - $120	Beads, Buttons and Bows	4 to 7yr.
	Students learn how to handle a needle and thread, sew buttons and create elaborate projects such as boxes, picture frames, mirrors, and wearable art.
Wednesday	3:30-5pm - $180	Mixed Media	4 to7yr.
	4:30-6pm - $180	Drawing & Painting	8 to 11yr.
	4-5:30pm - $180	Beads, Buttons and Bows	8 to 11yr.
Thursday	4-6pm - $240	Potter’s Wheel/Sculpture	8 min. age
	Students learn and practice the techniques of the potter from centering on the wheel to trimming and glazing. Students learn the basics of how to work with clay while creating figures, architectural projects, and other three dimensional art forms.
	4-5:30pm - $180	Drawing & Painting	8 to 11yr.
Friday	4-5:30pm - $180	Mixed Media	4 to 7yr.
Saturday	10-12pm - $240	Potter’s Wheel/Sculpture	8 min. age
	12-2pm - $240	Potter’s Wheel/Sculpture	8 min. age
	10:30-12:30pm - $270	Drawing & Painting	12 min. age

*Private instruction is available with individual artists in all media at $50 per hour.

A Student Art Show and Reception is scheduled for Saturday December 1, 2007. Mark your calendar!
